I have two ATV 3s, both fully updated with the latest software, both working on the same WiFi network, both with 5 bars reception.

One pulls movies down from iTunes like it should, a little swirly thing and then the movie starts. Te other takes about 5 minutes before it will start.

I've tried resetting the bad ATV, resetting (and updating the firmware) the Airport Extreme, restarting iTunes and restarting my iMac. I can see no reason why one works and the other doesn't.

Any help will , obviously, be very welcome. TIA!

Check the serial number of the one having problems - if the 4th and 5th characters are H9, HC, HD, HF, HG, HH, HJ, HK, HL, HM, HN, HP, HQ, HR, HT, HV, HW, HX, J1, J2, J3, J4, J5, J6, J7, J8, or J9 you might be experiencing a known wifi bug.

I swapped out the misbehaving unit for one from another room - which worked fine. It's not the location, so it's got to be the unit.

Thanks for the link, I'll check out the serial number when I get home.

Finally got around to checking the serial numbers. You were correct - it was one of the above and Apple swapped it our for free.

Thanks!
