Two Displays vs. One 30" Display?

    Hi all,
I've been currently editing with Final Cut, etc. on my macbook pro hooked up to a HP ZR24w IPS monitor. ( - $340)

Whenever the Mac Pro line is updated, I'm going to change up my setup. I was going to just buy the 21.5 HP IPS Monitor ( - $245) and pair it with my 24. Figured I could get them at the same height and it'd be a step up from my 15 inch Macbook screen.

However, my friend said that he switched from a 2 display setup to a large 30 inch setup and found he was more productive.

The 30 inch is most expensive though: @ $1,144.95

I could also get another 24 inch monitor too, although I think my desktop would be pretty crammed.

What kind of setup do you guys use / recommend ?

these monitors are night and day the 30 inch absolutely blows the 24 out of the water the resolution alone is killer plus the color gamut is insane. I think this was HP's dreamcolor monitor as well as super LCD tech that is top of the top. if you got the cash definitely go for the 30 over the two lesser 24 inch monitors.

    I'd get one 30" over two 24".

That being said, I have two 27" (iMac and ATD). :)
