Two external SSDs died on me.

I have a mid 2010 Mac Pro. I had a Toshiba Canvio and a SanDisk Extreme 900 external SSDs. Both died all of the sudden, without me doing anything unusual. My external HDDs work quite well. Could anybody help me telling me why that happened?

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on Your Mac because a static charge could have happened!

Changed you heating replacement in your Mac’s room!😏

Just st do the PRAM reset once every 30 days until the Summer time!

Sometimes SSDs just "go dark" on you, without warning.
I've had that happen to a couple of them.

Yes but what kind of heat? You are only person that doesn’t understand Winter is drying time of year in Norther Hemisphere with classic heating with fire!

How old are the drives? Quite simply, they don’t last forever.

So now I'm planning to buy a 1TB Sabrent NVME.M2 with a Lycom DT-120, to put into my Mac Pro 5.1 (2010) with High Sierra. Do you guys know about any compatibility issues that I should be aware of?
