I have two HomePods in my place, one in a bedroom and one in the living room, and just a few minutes ago, standing equidistantly between them, I asked Siri what the outside temperature was. The living room Siri cleared its throat as if to get my attention and then responded with the answer.

The same happened yesterday morning when I was standing a tiny little bit closer to the bedroom HomePod and it was the bedroom HomePod which cleared its throat before answering my question.

I wonder if this a deliberate thing to make sure I understand which HomePod is going to respond or just the (charming/happy) coincidence of another Apple "joke"?

BTW Siri was right on both occasions - it is cold outside!

Could be. I've never had Siri clear her/its throat on any circumstance. I have had her/it say "hm?" if I just say hey siri and wait like a dummy.

I do wish she would respond to a slow network more intelligently. I'll often say something and she wont appear to be doing anything however that is just because I can't see her light, so I'll ask again, and again and if I wait she'll say "just a moment". I think that could be handled better....

I tried to turn on "sound with siri" however it doesn't make a sound when music is playing.

I've heard Siri clear her throat once. I found it funny. I only have one HomePod but sometimes as I'm walking around, my WATCH answers instead. It was during one of those times that Siri on HomePod then cleared her throat and gave me the answer. I haven't been able to get her to do that again.

Well, I tried a little experiment this morning (because I have nothing better to do). I stood between the two HomePods and asked a few questions, turning my head towards one or the other as I spoke.

If you are roughly equidistant between two HomePods, the responding Siri definitely clears her throat to catch your attention.

This is quite pleasing - simple things please simple minds:D

I've just spent far too long trying to get Siri to clear his throat - couldn't get it to do so though. I do have a wall between my two units, so that's probably why.
