Hi all,

I just bought a new Ipod touch & two features that came to mind the second I looked through everything where 1: a Backlight timer. Apple go on about how to save battery power on the Ipod touch when in actual fact your still draining tons on the backlight always been on. Still when it's on minimum lighting it's still using battery power. 2: A rotation inhibitor to be able to stop rotation while listening to music. That cover-flow is just too annoying especially when your laid down on the beach or in bed etc..

These two features are right in front of your eyes yet Apple didn't put either of them into the Touch.

I know that you can Jailbreak your Ipod & Put on programs that Apple don't suport. Fair enough, it's an option but A: you can't jailbreak the latest version very easy. B: there a pain to setup & C: It just doesn't look good.

Please reply with your opinions & hopefully we can get Apple to maybe add these 2 features into the next release. I had read that certain things weren't added due to customer confusion but there not that hard to use. But especially due to the cost as well.

Thanks for taking your time to read this post & sorry for the English spelling mistakes. :confused:

1)Settings -> General -> Auto-lock.

2) On the full iOS 4, there's a portrait orientation lock.

Apple already thought of your solution. :cool:

Auto-Lock doesn't help. If you have lots of single albums which I do you would have to actually unlock the screen, then go back to music, then attempt & have a war with your Ipod to try keep it from rotating & in the end changing your track.

I don't understand why you bought a new iPod touch when a new, much better one is going to be release in one week...

Edit:

I don't quite understand what you mean here, but when you have an Auto-Lock time set your iPod will dim the screen before it locks. Even if it does lock, when you unlock it it brings you back to exactly where you were. Also, there's an orientation lock in iOS 4.
