I am a school teacher and a programmer on the side. I've found that the best way to get done what I need to is to carry around a 13" MacBook and another MacBook Air (upgraded from an HP netbook - yay grants!). I have these two computers and a Kindle, and basically set up my office wherever I happen to be.

Anyone else do this? Best case to carry everything around in? Looking for a backpack, but don't want to look like one of my students :)

You might have better luck with one of those suitcase style packs with wheels. That said, the Air and MacBook together are still pretty light, so you could probably find a shoulder bag that would work quite well.

Chrome Bags makes some cases that are specifically designed to have multiple notebooks if I remember correctly. Also the STM Loop had a huge middle pocket, two neoprene cases would give you a waterproof section as well...

Not a bag but...

www.sfbags.com Has custom built bags sleeves, etc.

I got a "sleeve" that is so beefy it's actually between a bag and a sleeve. They can be used as "carrying cases". I have a Timbuk2 shoulder bag that is totally and equally awesome as my sleeve. However, the builtin corduroy notebook pocket sheds corduroy fibers into my macbook, so I got the Waterfield to insulate it from the corduroy.

The sleeve is bombproof, has a convenient documents pocket and can have a shoulder strap too. The company is very responsive and I bet they'd custom design something for you if you ask nicely :) After my purchase they even contacted me to make sure I was satisfied with it.
