After I upgraded to 10.5 and went to my Keychain, I noticed that I have two Keychains labeled "login" (in addition to the "system", X509, etc). Both are the same with the same info and number of entries. I've saved a copy of my keychain, deleted everything and when it is put back into my user library, I end up with two login keychains. Went to Genius Bar at two Apple stores with no luck. Even went as far as reloading 10.5 (archive and install) with no luck. I would hate to have to manually enter all my keychain passwords again. I am now running 10.5.2 and still have the same problem. I have not had any unusual problems but worry that one day I may loose all my keychain entries. Any ideas out there??

Thanks in advance.

try going to Home/Library/Keychains while in list view and sorted by date modified and delete the login keychain which was not modified recently i.e. leave the login keychain that was recently modified.

make sure you copy both of them to the desktop for backup.

Two "Login" files in Keychain OS 10.5

This may be old news by now, but I just had this problem this morning. I don't know what caused it, but after checking both very carefully, decided one was an exact duplicate of the other. I went under the menu, and deleted one of them. Probably could have picked either. It worked, and now am back to one, functioning normally. Hope this helps, even if it is old news.

PWS thanks but...

Went to the Apple Store and the Genius there tried that (after making a B/U). I'll try again and let everyone know on the this thread.

Stay well,
