I have a mac laptop and a desktop - and one gmail account.

If I get new mail via Apple Mail on my laptop, it then doesn't show up on Mail on my desktop. Is it possible to get all messages downloading onto each computer?

GMail now uses IMAP so you can have emails coming in to as many computers as you like. When you read one it's automatically marked as read on all the other machines.

Check it out in your GMail settings.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A102 Safari/419.3)

its just like I and loads of others have with their iPhones.
Mail automaticly sets up imap now.

And what about the other way round?

If I have two Gmail accounts, is it possible to have Mail somehow mark messages from each account differently (cos they both appear in the one inbox)?

For example, messages from one of the accounts are all highlighted in blue.

Mail > Preferences > Rules > Create new

    Add
"if account" "gmail" or which ever gmail you want, then set it to change the color just below that.

I have 2 email accounts being accessed by Mail, and all I do is just select each sub inbox instead of the Mailbox as a whole.

Just curious.... Is there a reason this is important to you? When you reply to an email, Mail will automatically know which account to reply from.

There will be a little carrot next to the inbox, just click it, and then select whichever inbox you want. You can have them together in one box, or as two separate boxes.
