Two more weeks left to return my 3GS...

I have a long history with iPhones. I started with a 4GB 2G, upgraded to a 3G, and then sold the 3G to save a few bucks on data. I couldn't stand my iPhone-less life, so I picked up a 3GS two weeks ago at the subsidized AT&T price (16gb $199).

I'm loving the 3GS and find it a worthy upgrade over the 3G. However, I definitely have some level of buyer's remorse after reading about the (potential) upgrades of the 4G/HD. I have two more weeks left to return the 3GS and pay a 10% restock fee.

Any other recent purchasers contemplating the same decision?

Just wait an extra month and a 1/2 for the new one.

Gee, I love the way in the USA you can change your mind about a product or hear something better is comming out and have the right to return it.

I would say that anyone buying a 3GS after January 2010 was making a fairly foolish decision if they are at all interested in the latest tech.

Not necessarily true. When it comes to phones, a customer activated new line, we generally have 30 days to verify that we get service and like the handset. The OP is simply coming up to the end of that period of time.

Now if the OP was an existing customer which it "sounds" like, then you don't get 30 days. When I worked for AT&T a few years back you only got 7.

The return window for equipment returns is 30 days for new and existing customers. iPhones are subject to the 10% restocking fee though.

Sell it on ebay in 2 months, then you don't have to go iPhone-less, and you walk away with at least $300 towards the 4th gen...ebay says more like $400-$500 if you unlock it. And this price will probably spike a bit when the new phone comes out, especially if the subsidy is lower or the unsubsidized price is higher than the current model.
