Two new models is already 1 too many.

Of the 5 people in my direct, multigenerational family circle:
3 have given up on Apple Pencils when they got a new iPad and their existing pencil wasn't compatible.
1 has chosen a lower tier iPad than they wanted when upgrading so they could use their pencil.
1 doesn't use an iPad

That group includes a Desinger, an artist, an app developer, a post graduate college student, and a business director. Product compatibility completely ruined the pencil experience. Since there's widespread incompatibility, the differentiating features between generations or even the "low end model" and the pro are largely avoided.

What if an Apple Watch Ultra was only compatible with certain specific iPhone pros?
What ruined it for me was that the pencil bricked up after not being used for a while and it no longer could hold a charge.
I would never buy another Apple pencil again.

iPhone fold.... if it doesnt I will hesitate even more to buy - they need to justify the cost. I doubt it though as hasnt been mentioned for a long time.
Perhaps. I'm not interested in a foldable phone, so it will suck if they are going to add this feature to the fold iPhone, and the fold iPhone only.

This is the pet peeve of Apple pencils. They aren’t cheap products by any measure and they are even more expensive if uses are not fully justified.

I have an M1 iPad Pro and Apple Pencil that magnetically charges with iPad. It works well enough and I find some rare but useful occasions to take advantage of the situation. Now, with this rumoured new version coming out, do I upgrade my iPad Pro now or do I wait for iPad Pro M6 to come out with all the Vapor chamber thing going on? Cause it would be so bad if M6 iPad Pro somehow don’t support current Apple Pencil Pro and need the updated version. Ridiculous I know but Apple Flip flopping like crazy really annoys me.

Wow! the galaxy of Apple Pencils, why two when there's room on my desks to put 10 more pencils...Go on Apple put all your Car, Vision pro, AirPower guys on it.

Seriously! there should be just 1 pencil and no need to update for years, its not something i would like to buy again and again and again. Smells greed here and not innovation.

It's sad that we have to rely on the EU to force companies to make proper product design decisions. Thanks to them, Nintendo was forced to update the Switch 2 design to allow for more easily replaced batteries. Now it sounds like the EU is forcing Apple to design Apple Pencils with replaceable batteries. I'm here for it. My biggest complaint with Apple Pencil is the number of them that I've purchased because the batteries died. I eventually stopped buying them from Apple and turned to cheaper but still perfectly serviceable generic pencils from Amazon because the failure rate was out of control.

I gotta take this with a grain of salt... "failure rate out of control"... for an Apple product? I have never used an Apple Pencil, but surely they are not failing as drastically as your words suggest?

I love the Apple Pencil USB-C's simple and wide compatibility. Does your iPad have USB-C? Then it works.

They should aim to do the same with the full featured pencils.
