two pins missing on MacBook DVI connection

So today I was looking at my DVI connection on my MacBook and I noticed there is two pins missing...is this normal? or is this a defect?

So today I was looking at my DVI connection on my MacBook and I noticed there is two pins missing...is this normal? or is this a defect?

The MacBook's DVI connection is mini-DVI, hence the lack of pins.

I don't know how normal this is, but I've noticed the exact same thing on my new MB.

There's a good photo on the Wikipedia page...Pins 21 and 23 are not used.
