I've had this problem going on two months now, so I would not recall what program could be causing it.

A cloned share, "eve-2" (the name of my iMac is "Eve") shows up across the network as a PC share. OS is Snow Leopard, fully updated. Model iMac8,1

Screens of finder and running processes attached if it helps.

The two SMBD process's tell us that you have SMB (Windows type) file sharing turned on.

I also see AppleFileServer process running. That means AFP (Apple type) file sharing is enabled as well.


Perhaps go to System Preferences -> Sharing -> File Sharing and then click Options and Turn both off and see if the duplicate entry goes away. Might take a few minutes or a reboot.

Its odd that it would show up at all like that.
