Two Simple Laptop Questions

1.) Is it bad to charge the laptop overnight? As in, can you overcharge your laptop? Cause I don't want to mess up my battery.

2.) Is it bad to carry my laptop in a backpack while it is in sleep mode?


Sorry if these are stupid questions but I don't want to mess up my expensive laptop. 😀

1) No, it stops at 100%. Just be sure to make a complete discharge/recharge cycle at least once a month and your battery should stay healthy.

2) No, that is one of the things sleep is made for. I do it all the time.

Personally, I would do a complete shutdown of any machine being transported. The machine coming on accidentally inside a carrying case or backpack where there is nowhere for the heat to escape would be a Bad Thing™
