The honeymoon period is still in effect. It’s far too soon to judge what this model will be like over the long haul.

It has been so long since Apple has offered anything new and exciting, many people are starved for something different.

Lacking two speakers, two cameras and a larger battery like the similar sized Galaxy S25 Edge, reveals how many Apple buyers will accept just anything the company offers no matter its shortcomings.
If the trade off is having to give up a second speaker, a second camera lens, and a little bit of battery life in exchange for a thin and light weight phone that is actually comfortable to hold, I am all for it and a trade I'm willing to make.

I think my hatred for my heavy 16 Pro (and heavy phones in general) is showing again lol.

I totally agree with his comment in the video about the camera and I know my wife is in the same camp. Both of us rarely use the ultra-wide camera, but the telephoto camera is a must for me. I find myself zooming in all the time. Especially at the kids sporting events or at an amusement park when you cannot get close enough to something that you want to capture on photo or video.

An iPhone Air with the main and telephoto camera would be a fair compromise, but if you are taking my telephoto camera away then you have ruled that phone out as an option for me.

I wonder what sort of returns they'd get using a higher megapixel sensor with an Ultrawide lens and cropping in to 1x and 2x? This would solve a lot of the single camera complaints.

"but some people may be able to get through the day without needing to recharge"

It's simply insane that people find it acceptable that a phone can't make it through an entire day without charging. I so miss the days when a phone could go several days if needed. Yeah, they didn't do as much, but seriously. Give us a phone that can make it a week. Make the screen small enough so it can fit in the pocket. No, it doesn't have to be as thin as a piece of
There are people out there who are not glued to the screen all day - why is THAT so hard to understand. A lot of people charge over night, and only over night.

The significantly larger battery of the lighter and slim Edge demonstrates what’s possible.

Even has two speakers and two cameras… was Apple asleep at the wheel?

Perhaps they remain hyper focused on profit taking.

Had Apple created a true competitor matching the well equipped Galaxy Edge, I’d be all-in.

The iPhone mini 13 is so much the ideal size phone, why doesn't Apple offer that? Smaller is far more important than thinner!!!!!
Same with the Apple watch. We have let Apple get by with poor battery life for way too long.

So you're saying that it's basically a novelty item with no real innovations or advantages.

It's hardly a novelty if you like it. Advantages = thin and light.

Maybe you don't care, but I have hated the weight of my phones since I bought the 13 Pro a few months after release, and equally dislike the weight of my 16 Pro. I have never gotten used to it.

...but the screen is waay to big on the Air for me. My Pro is about as big of a screen as I would ever want, and anything larger just isn't convenient or comfortable.

Same with the Apple watch. We have let Apple get by with poor battery life for way too long.

That's absolutely true, and one of the reasons I recently gave up on the Apple Watch after seven years of owning one, and went back to Garmin. As for phones, though, I can get 2.5-3 days of battery with my 16 Pro as I'm a super light user...sometimes less than an hour/days, so for that I'm good.

Pretty much this! Not everyone needs hours and hours of screen-on time during the day. My entire workday involves sitting in front of a 49-inch QD-OLED monitor. Why the heck would I be using my phone all the time?

Even when I'm in the car, I have access to a wireless charger in the center console and a USB-C charger. And guess what I have sitting next to my monitor at my desk:

It's almost as though people just invent reasons to hate. We get it, you don't like it. But it works just fine for a lot of us.

I hear you, if Samsung can do it then there is no reason Apple can't do it also, I agree. While I think I am going to get the Air I have actually been thinking about the S25 Edge as well and its still a possibility for me. I just know my next phone will be very light.

Not sure what everyone is on about this Air device, I have a 15 pro max and never even noticed that it was heavy.

Maybe more people need to go the gym.

You need a new line. I lift weights and I'm not weak.. fun fact, I'm a rock climber and do full pullups with just my index fingers..

I don't like the weight, and I don't want my want phone to weigh as much as it does.
