txt message X button so we don't get double alert

wouldn't it be so easy that we could have a X in the upper right hand corner of the TXT Message Display when the phone is locked? so we don't get that stupid double alert... I hate that.

how exactly do you turn off the repeat text reminder alert?

bc i'm pretty sure you can't disable it

Hit the sleep/wake button or home button after you view it to cancel the alerts. Not that hard to figure out.

ok for me personally, it was more like i dont want it to repeat alerts period because i dont think it should require some physical stimulus to turn off the repeat alerts, not that it's hard to do but that's besides the point.

Especially if you receive a text, the screen shows the text from the locked screen and i'm sure you don't actually reply to every single one. Sometimes you might just read it and leave it alone.

Woops! Sorry there. Forgot it was a 3.0 feature. I guess I just took it for granted.

There is a setting in 3.0 that allows you to do something similar to what you are asking, just be patient.
