wouldn't it be so easy that we could have a X in the upper right hand corner of the TXT Message Display when the phone is locked? so we don't get that stupid double alert... I hate that.

Just go into settings and turn off reminder alert. Problem solved.

Hit the sleep/wake button or home button after you view it to cancel the alerts. Not that hard to figure out.

ok for me personally, it was more like i dont want it to repeat alerts period because i dont think it should require some physical stimulus to turn off the repeat alerts, not that it's hard to do but that's besides the point.

Especially if you receive a text, the screen shows the text from the locked screen and i'm sure you don't actually reply to every single one. Sometimes you might just read it and leave it alone.

I agree that it would be nice to have some setting to cancel or allow the repeat alert of text messages.

Woops! Sorry there. Forgot it was a 3.0 feature. I guess I just took it for granted. :)

There is a setting in 3.0 that allows you to do something similar to what you are asking, just be patient.
