Type what you say

Is there any good software I can use on an iMac that would type what I say in a word doc?
is this built into Mac OS?

There is dictation built into MacOS. System Preferences > Keyboard > Dictation. I've never used it, but others might have some actual user feedback for you. Good luck!

I use it all time, with Word, iMessages, even this response to your query. I have not had any issues using it with any app yet.

Easy to use - just select the 'Dictate' option in Word at the end of the Menu bar.
