typical portrait format

?? Typical? Well, long side top to bottom, short side left to right. How's that? A portrait can be any shape you want man.
 
I meant among 4x6, 5x7, etc. These are all different ratios. Do portraits usually use one or another?
 
4:5 is probably the most common, but it's not like there's a lack of 5x7 or 11x14 or anything else.
