I don't know if it's me or what, and I've given it a few weeks, but has anyone noticed a change in how the iPhone handles typing, spelling, etc. in 3.0?

I used to be able to type pretty well before (and fast too), but now it's typo crazy. I can't tell if it's me or what, but man am I noticing something.

Anyone else?

GREAT! It isn't just me! I thought I was just losing it, and it is driving me NUTS! Maybe something did change but I've been having a heck of time trying to type.

The Stig

I find I have been missing the space bar A LOT more often than before 3.0. I have noticed it too, but I thought it was just me....

This. I type with two-thumbs. In the past, no problem. Now on 3.0 my right-thumb clicking the space bar gets interpreted as a Return all too often.

I feel like the auto correct engine periodically shuts down. Quitting/restarting the offending app seems to bring it back.

Something else I've noticed, that I'm sad about, is the lack of stuff like "welll" (three L's) that would auto change to "we'll" or "helll" (three L's) that would change to "he'll".

Apparently the keys are thinner and there's a bigger space between each key. Maybe that has something to do with it?

The auto correction also seems to have changed.

It's auto-changing words I've never used. Thyself? Why would it auto-correct something to that?

Nip? Ya ... I wanted to write 'nip' and not 'nope'. 🙄

Use the notes app to fix the issue as with os2.0.

What issue? Auto-correcting to the wrong word?

From what I can see, that's only part of the problem. Hitting the right key, just in general, seems to be the rub right now.

i've felt like something was a little different as well. But figured it was just me

My typing is still fine, except for what's quoted above.

I too keep missing the space bar since 3.0. It's really annoying, since it either merges two words together that dont make sense, or it accidentally triggers the return key, thus starting a new line and making the text message look ridiculous

I don't know if this is new, but it's expanding words

putting in "barc" makes the auto-correct come up with "barcelona".

Not only do I keep missing the space bar, but I CONSTANTLY hit the shift key when I'm trying to type an "a". It's infuriating and it didn't use to happen this much to me.

When os2.0 came out the auto correct was a bit of a spastic. No matter how many times you put hell in it would correct to he'll etc the only way to correct it was to launch notes and then type the work three times tapping the little x each time the fourth time your word would come up as you wanted it.

it does seem different for me. I've been getting frustrated lately because it feels like I hit the wrong keys A LOT now... I thought maybe my fingers were getting fatter 🙄

I keep hitting the backspace button when I type a "L" or a "M"... that's frustrating... but it has only been recently, 3.0 recently? possibly...

Yeah I agree. Not hitting the space bar and hitting return is a huge one now...although I have only noticed it over the past week or so. The shift/"a" thing is kinda bothering me too.

I actually have started to notice my screen isn't fully responsive when typing fast sometimes...I don't know if that's just me, or what, but it is something I've noticed.
