Got my mini just now after a delivery screw up that delayed gratification for a few hours. I own the original iPad and a retina iPhone and tons of other technology that has displays of various resolutions. When a retina comes out, I will happily give this one to my 10 year old and upgrade, but overall I am really loving it.

Biggest surprise was that I saw some reviewers say in portrait mode, it was just the right size for thumb typing, so I tried that straight away (as that was a concern for this form factor) and my hands weren't big enough to make that comfortable.

Second biggest surprise? In landscape, I can type as well as on my full sized iPad. I think that might not work as well for someone who isn't already and iPad user, but I was shocked at how easy it was the live with a downsized keyboard.

I was surprised the smaller size worked so well, too.

I like this keyboard way more than both the iPhone and iPad keyboards in both orientations.

Try again in portrait but with the keyboard split. I think it's great that way once you get used to key positions.
