Typing on photos in iPhoto?

Is there anyway to type on the photos in iPhoto? I think I've tried almost everything, but can't figure it out.

No, you'd need a 'true' photo editing program to do that, like Photoshop.

Or you could try Gimp, as it's free.

You could also use Pages (part of the iWork package). Just drag a photo onto a blank page in Pages and create a text box over the photo. Works like a charm.
