If I know the path to a file, or have it in the paste buffer, how do I enter it to a file open dialog. I don't want to have to click through folders to get to my file if I know where it is. There has to be a way.

Not the best but here you go:
Bring up the open or save box. Hit Command-G (Apple-G) (you will get a beep). Now put the cursor in the search box and hit /. You should now have the Go To Folder window. Paste the path!
