Yes - I see it autofilling ‘Settings — Open’ before quickly resetting. You can quickly type a second letter (even another s) as a sort of workaround.
 
That's strange, not the case for me. I did the same thing, typed an "s" but the keyboard didn't crash.

I tested this on an iPhone SE 2nd gen with the latest public release of iOS 18.

Edit: No issues with my 14 Pro Max with iOS 18. Maybe its specific to certain iPhones, strange bug.

Funny - I just checked, it happens on both my iPhone 16 PM and iPhone 15 PM. Also, type a bunch of 's' characters, a few of them will register in the text box - start deleting them, when you get to 1 's', it crashes again.

I posted here about the same thing about a week ago. I was typing the word speedtest and the s would crash the keyboard and disappear. However the problem has seemed to go away. Which is odd. Since there were no software updates.

For me there was an update today that fixed it - 18.0.1
