I have an upgrade coming up in the middle of august. I hope supplies are plentiful by that time.

I'm 95% positive you DON'T HAVE TO WAIT. Didn't AT&T just change their policy so anyone with a contract expiring or upgrade coming in July or August can upgrade early? I'm sure I read that a week ago or so..

Just did a quick search of the availability tool shows Apple has restocked. I don't think Apple is going to lose customers by tightening supply. That is just dumb. There is too much competition b/t Blackberry and Pre.

I'm up in Ottawa, Canada, and I've been trying for almost a week to get my hands on one, but not one Rogers store in the region has any models (there are no Apple Stores in the area). After having called most of them, only one was getting in a new shipment this week (and the shipment was only expected to be 15-20 total)... the rest were all in the dark as to how long it might be before they'd get any at all.

When I bought my 3G in September, only one Rogers store in town had one 16GB black. Wireless Wave, OTOH, had lots (all told 200 iPhones!). Moral: don't go to the Rogers store, and find a third-party retailer.

O2 in the UK has sold out too both online and in all of my local retail stores. Should be back by the weekend, we'll see...

I was about to go to Oregon to purchase my iPhone, but they are all sold out..

Lucky I did not make the trip yet..

I don't know...just checked availability in Oregon and all 3 stores have stock, except the Bridgeport Village store is out of the white 32GB 3GS. Figures, since I live near that store.

If GM, Ford or Chrysler actually produced new engine cycle designs that gave us 75mpg in the city I'd imagine they wouldn't be bankrupt at this point.

As opposed to Honda/Toyota/Hyundai/BMW/Mercedes-Benz/etc? Are they producing 75 mpg models as well?

This type of thinking is exactly why once great American automotive production is dying.

Shenanigans. My local store on the database was showing out of stock for the 32GB white 3Gs and I went there a half hour after checking and picked up 2 of them, one for my girlfriend and my brother got the other. They said they had plenty of stock.

Looks like many Apple Stores got a shipment in after this story was posted. All the stores I checked have almost full stock, and the two closest to me have all four models. I think this story was posted a bit prematurely. Slow news day, I guess.

Completely off topic, but, YES, they are.

GIYF -> Blue Line (as 'Blue' is the marketing term for a specific hybrid system, e.g. Mercedes S400 Blue, BMW 330 d Blue)

Too bad they are all tied in with the oil companies and that will never happen. Hence why I buy foreign.

Aside from that I ordered my iPhone 3Gs online on the 23rd and it just now shipped : / Supposedly it'll be at my parents house on the 2nd, then I have to wait 2 weeks for it to travel across the ocean to me :(

There is if almost 30-40% of other stores nation-wide are out of milk as well :) also the amount of grocery stores vs. apple stores vary alot, you will have at least 2 - 3 grocery stores not counting supermarkets or convinient shops compared to 1 apple store in your COUNTY :), I live in LA and we only have about 3 - 5 apple stores in our county so yeah, and it's a major city too.

Looks like the cows started pumping again on Monday . . .

I tried 4 Apple stores in an around London on Saturday and all of them had sold out out of Black 32GB models. Got the last one at the Carphone Warehouse, 7 minutes before closing!

Don't Beleive What You Read

That is BS or, media Hype.
I live in the State of Oregon and I went to the Apple Store at Washington Square last night (6/29/09) and they informed me that they had all models in stock. So I bought a 3GS 32giger for myself. I think I deserve it!
