To say everything we are doing isnt warming this planet up is amazing. All those factories, all those cars, all those computers and none of them produce heat?:D God help us and scotty beam me up, lets go somewhere with intelligent life.

More arrogance! One little St. Helens eruption will do more to global warming than all the man made processes ever could. The sky is not falling folks!

No, it will not. Volcanoes just throw ashes. That comes down again. CO2 is different.

Again, the Oceans produce over 90% of CO2 that is in our atmosphere. Also, CO2 isn't the most prevalent greenhouse gas. WATOR VAPOR is. Close to 90%. And we are worried about CO2?

EPA Director of the Department of Pollutant Decrees, Ray Donaldson, said,
"Back before carbon dioxide was dangerous, we simply assumed that water vapor was also benign. But all reputable scientists now agree that the increased water vapor content of the atmosphere from such sources as burning of fuels and power plant cooling towers will also enhance the greenhouse effect, leading to potentially catastrophic warming."

So it looks like water vapor is the next to go.

Does anyone else see how idiotic this is? The funniest part was "all reputable scientists".

By the way,

If anyone here believes that man made CO2 is going to destroy our planet by way of global warming but they continue to drive a car, eat meat, water their lawn, use electricity, live in a house made of wood, or use any kind of petroleum based product they should be ignored and labeled a hypocrite.

If they truly believed this, they should lead by example and give up all these things.

Come on...Scientists aren't arguing that we need to eliminate all those things. They are arguing that we should *reduce* our consumption and/or develop clean energy sources such that our emissions are, say, 20% lower than 1990 levels. For example, using electricity generated from clean sources isn't a problem, watering a lawn isn't a problem (I'm assuming no one is using bottled water for this), etc..

However, I would agree that, in general, people who complain about greenhouse gases and then commute an hour to work in SUVs (as an example) are being hypocrites. It doesn't prove that what they're saying is wrong (or right), just that their behavior in this regard is hypocritical.

Apple is being truly absurd and pandering to the politically correct BS of the "global warming" crowd which is being renamed "climate change" because their science is flawed and thousands of scientist disagree.

I couldn't read past post #141, that being the most ignorant, brainless, sheepish, lame post up to that point. Look, if you're not awake by now, likely you won't wake up ever. So go back to your chute and don't be surprise when you wake up screaming as the axe falls upon your neck. I only hope someone does me or the rest of us the favor of gagging you before that happens because I hate to hear sheep screaming. It's maddening. But please, don't pollute this forum with your unabashed, partisan, ignorance. It's not as easy as republicans = bad = hate the environment, etc., Dems good, bla, bla, ba-a-a-a... If you're going to be stupid, please: Do it somewhere else. It doesn't add anything of worth to any thread anywhere on the entire internet.

People, it's simple common sense and it doesn't require a PiledHigher&Deeper (Phd) in Meteorology to understand that animals and you consume oxygen and plants ingest and store CO2, releasing oxygen during their lives through a nifty process called photosynthesis. When animals decay they release gasses including methane and others, when plants decay and/or burn they release all the CO2 they trapped during their lifetime. Furthermore, it's a widely and scientifically repeatable fact that warming induces CO2 release, in that order, not the reverse order that liars like Algore would have you believe, that is, that CO2 causes the warming. Clearly a person with eyes would have to have the ability to see that warming, up to the recent solar minimum, has been affecting all the other bodies in the solar system too, not just Earth, or Terra if you prefer. And it follows that the cooling trend we're in now is occurring on the other planets in the system just as it is occurring on Sol. There is a period in recent history, before Mr. Ford invented the assembly line method of manufacturing, where grapes were grown in England, clearly a much warmer period of history that occurred before the Industrial Revolution. Humans weren't so egotistical then as to say, much less believe, they had something to do with it. Maybe those were better times, before corporations ruled the world.

Man, I hope you keep contributing to this site! Your posts are delightful to read!

Ha! If only human nature was truly like that.

In reality, people smoke, drink, eat super-size meals, use sun-beds in full knowledge of the damage it's doing to them. If the danger isn't immediate and visible; then people tend to ignore it. Sadly, that's human nature.

I don't know the reasons (man made, or natural cycle) behind climate change; but people aren't going to dramatically change their lifestyle when the change is so gradual they don't easily see it; and the causes are still so vague they can't see themselves as being directly to blame.

In any case, even if a few million people changed their lifestyle as you suggest, it wouldn't make a difference; in a world with 6 billion+ people. IF the cause is man-made (or merely if man is a catalyst) we need everyone to change a little; rather than a tiny number of people to change completely.

And we arent warming up the planet? I wont call names but where I live we had a record high temp for the day ever recorded....but repeat after me,there is no global warming, there is no global warming, there is..........

Excellent point; remember that the leader of the hug-a-tree, eco carbon credit trading, global warming movement, former Conngressman Al Gore, owns one of the largest and most energy-inefficient homes in Tennessee, is a frequent user of private jets, and owns SUVs. The matra here that they extoll: Do what I say not what I do...

This debate has two major things in common with the religious debate. 1: they are both completely unprovable in even the slightest way, and 2: it's completely made up; fictitious.

Heres me holding out for those Hydrogen Powered German companies and Tesla Motors. Oh and those fancy people studying Cold Fusion.

It really comes down to, "If I could I would". I can't avoid using Contact Energy's Dirty Dirty coal fueled electricity and I cant avoid Chinese goods. If I could I'd use Genesis Energy and Natural Gas cookers. I am changing to a motorcycle though, so I can kill myself while using less petrol!

And for those people that are arguing CO2, Coal and Oil primarily make CO. Which is highly Toxic and an insulator.
