I bought a UAG case on Amazon and when I put my new ipad pro 9.7 in it, it causes my ipad to make static noise whenever I touch and swipe the screen. I thought I had a defective ipad so I took it out of the case and tried it but on its own, it makes no sound whatsoever. Can someone who has a UAG case confirm if this happens to yours as well? You might have to put your ears to the speakers to hear it.

I have a UAG case on a 9.7 iPad Pro and it is completely silent, with or without the case.

Edit: If it wasn't August, I would think this was an April Fools joke, the look my wife gave me when she saw me holding the iPad speaker directly to my ear and rubbing my finger on the screen..... hahaha

After reading some Amazon reviews, I'm not the only one experiencing this... I think I got a defective case. Wish there was a fix

Now, without the case on, I did hear a "hiss" from the speakers at full volume. When I tried it again, it was silent. The upper one sounded almost as though some air was escaping. But now I can't hear it. Guess it's a good thing I don't make a habit of holding the speaker to my ear

Have you tried to remove the cover part from the back part to see if the magnet in the closure is causing the issue? I can't imagine what else in the material would be at fault, if it is indeed the UAG case

It was indeed the magnet that was causing the problem, but not the magnet from the removable back stand. Whenever my ipad is close to the magnet that's directly touching it (closure magnet on the right hand side), it makes buzzing noise when touching the screen. I don't think it's the problem with defective UAG case but the design itself. If anyone else has UAG case on ipad pro 9.7, try swiping up and down the notification center rapidly while it's in the case and see if you hear any noise. This is unfortunate because I really like all other aspects of the case.

I notice my iPad makes an internal, electrical sounding noise. But I only hear it when my surroundings are very quiet and I don't associate it with the case.

On your cases the folio screen cover is magnetic on the back? Mine is a plastic snap mechanism. The only magnet on mine is the tab that keeps the screen cover closed.

I have an UAG case with the same problem.
I will try it in a quiet room.
I dont know, is the UAG case the source of the problem or only makes the noise lauder?
How dou you think, this is harmfull for the Ipad?
I tried to use the IPad without the UAG, and maybe the battery lasts longer (placebo?).

I am absolutely having this exact problem. I kept hearing an almost buzzing sound while swiping the screen. Did a search and the internet brought me here. I never imagined the sound might be cause by my UAG case, but when I removed it the sound stopped. Anyone know if the case will cause damage? The damn thing cost me sixty bucks.
