If an app requires "always" for location that app is deleted. There is always another app that can be used, especially with regards to weather.

You may want to rethink that one. For weather apps that send an alert when there is severe weather present, always on is a good thing.

How do you know this? I've never found any evidence of that behavior, and I'm very particular about how I set up each new iPhone.

Disable location services when not using, and enabling it when you are??? What a ridiculous solution, especially when there is an alternative that is not just as good, but better than Uber. Switch to Lyft...simple.

And if someone likes and prefers the service that Uber provides?

Sure sounds like a "you're holding it wrong" excuse.

The truth? Nothing that comes out of Uber's PR is true. They're egotistical unethical capatilists.
I just don't understand, where are we heading in the name of technology though. Just recently watched "Snowden". It scared me, to be honest. What if the apps like these are doing the same things.

The way the comment was phrased it seemed like the Weather app knew locations regardless of privacy settings. I don't have Location Services turned on, so that won't apply to me.

Because otherwise the app would not be able to report local weather.
Are we talking about the same app here? Apple Weather? Data provided by the Weather Channel? I don't have location services turned on, but I have five different locations saved in the app that I can scroll through depending on where I am. Never once does the app have access to Location Services but I have complete access to local weather.
