Use a Windows laptop for work, so I need Firefox for a unified browsing experience.

With uBlock origin enabled, it seems firefox will intermittently stop working...basically cant load any sites.

Actually, all extensions are busted, because if I click on any extension on the top browser bar - which should show me extension specific options - it just opens an empty field.

Anyone have the same experience?

Yes I have the exact same problem too. The issue can take a few seconds or minutes to kick in but I can cause it to crash every time by visiting the homepage for Skype. Disabling uBlock and using Adblock Plus for now without further problems. My other extensions seem fine like NoScript and Imagus. MBA 11.0.1, Firefox 83.0

i didnt do anything, but it seems like the other extensions are starting to work (vpn, lastpass, etc)

gonna try the ublock and others now

i spoke way too soon. the extensions killed firefox again. and closing firefox with those things on take a long time , so it is definitely buggy.

firefox 83 is a rosetta enabled translation. waiting for the arm-native 84 and maybe thatll fix it

Same problem. uBlock origin kills Firefox. I had to uninstall. I have one more extension (Zotero Connector) and it works fine.
For now, I'm using Adblock but I hope for a fix so I can go back to uBlock origin as it's much better!
(Mac Mini M1, Firefox 83.0)

As a data point I'm trying the 84 beta which is a universal app, and still crashes. It actually crashes and generates a crash report now at least instead of locking up.

I've got the same problem with Firefox 83. It seems like the extensions hang causing Firefox to not be able to load anything. It doesn't seem specific to any particular extension. I've tried disabling them one at a time but it would still hang up until I had no extensions enabled. I tried 84b3 but it's very crashy.

I am experiencing the same issue. Apart from disabling UBO, is there any other fix? This problem has pushed me into using Safari instead of Firefox on the MBP, and I have to say, I am kind of enjoying the experience on Safari so far.

What do you use to block ads in Safari? I must admit I like Safari’s snapness but I can’t get same adblocking level I have now with Firefox and that using Adblock ultimate in place of UBO.

I use 1Blocker in Safari, and run pfBlockerNG on my pfSense firewall for good measure. I never see ads on any of my devices. Not sure if I am getting the same degree of tracking protection, but over time, I find I care about that less and less - my resistance is breaking down I guess...

I’ve also been forced to use Safari. It’s not that bad actually. I use Adblock Pro for ad blocking. I also use pfblocker-ng on my pfSense router for ad blocking as well.

Looks like things are improving with 84b6. It doesn't seem as crashy however a lot of addons just show a blank window when you click on them.
