Ubuntu on a USB Hardrive

How do I install and boot a USB hardrive with Ubuntu on it? I don't want to touch my OSX hardrive, but I want to use Ubuntu from a HD, not the CD. Is there any way to do this?

That is how to install Ubuntu 8.04 to a usb hdd, so it is just a matter of getting your mac to boot from a usb device.
