Someone posted about MaxiMice a while ago. Well, this is even better: uControl.

http://gnufoo.org/ucontrol/ucontrol.html

It's designed as a control panel, and its extremely customisable. I've been using it for quite a while now. It's beautiful: it lets you modify keys (eg, map the caps lock to the control key) and the operation of your mouse/trackpad.

In my case, I use it such that, when I hold down the function key on my ti-book, my trackpad works as a scroll whell - horizontally and vertically. Using it only for vertical scrolling is less intrusive, but horizontally is very handy once you get used to it.

Very cool software, check it out !

ya know, i had heard alot of good things about this program, but i didnt think i had a use for it.

then you mentioned scrolling with a touchpad and i was interested. what a great program. and GPL to boot. thanks for the post man.
