Well, I'm starting to doubt an October announcement. IIRC if it's going to be a launch, the invites go out about 2 weeks before the event. That takes us to 27, 28 already and those dates are going to coincide with the earnings results (no, they won't combine the two). So, that only leaves the 31st. It could be a silent update, in which case, probably no redesign, just updated with whatever is available at the moment (and that's not that much).

They'd be crazy not to update the iMac this month....we all know they've forgotten the Mac Pro exists, tho.

Apple may be holding off to kill two birds with one stone. Host the Mac event from the new Apple HQ events center and celebrate 10 years of unibody Macbooks (2006-2016)...

I'm fine with a silent update, just make it with Polaris GPUs...
I can see doing a silent with the iMac, but not the MBP and so if you're going to have a media event for one line of Macs why not mention the other?

Take my money Apple! Just don't let me wait so long.

I'm using MacBook 12", can't stand the tiny screen anymore!

Should be soon. With every Apple product of late, they introduce it and within minutes of the ordering window opening, the product goes to 3-4 weeks to ship. And Tim is a logistics expert? lol.

So, ordering starts right away at the end of Oct, and a month for product to actually arrive to you should make it just in time for the holidays.

I wonder if, in addition to unveiling the new watches, there will be an announcement that they're killing their computer line. Only iPhones, iPads, and watches from now on.
There's no media event for the watches AFAIK, they just announced the availability, that's all.

Or they are just waiting for kabylake.

Silent update with skylake for MacBook Pro?

At this point I don't know anymore... I don't see them making a serious plan about the future of computer.

MAC PRO --> 1030days:confused:

I would not be upset if Apple decided to go with ARM powered Macs.
Since I have a fairly new iMac, that migration would not effect me immediatly, but I'd be unhappy and that would most like be the final straw, in that I'd not be buying another Mac.

As it stands, I bought a laptop that wasn't a MBP, my iMac should hopefully last several years, so any platform transition won't affect me for a while

Event announcement must be imminent.

New Halloween watch band and emoji event.
Courage.

I'm ok with a silent update. Just wishing for that redesign, killer GPU (Polaris), and expanded and more affordable SSD options.

And perhaps a surprise release of a 24" model please
