Got my phone swapped out the other day and today we started a road trip. My phone sat in the console unused and fully charged. After 10 hours it was dead. No BT or wifi.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

You must have a lemon! My battery runs circles around my former iPhones. You should return it then.

Can also confirm my battery is amazing when compared to my 3G and 2G iPhones. Best battery on a phone I have had!

Usage: 5 hours 34 min (gaming, wifi, brightness 50%)
Standby: 10 hours 13 min

Still have 51% battery left.

Based on that I would get 11 hours of actual usage. Which is insane!

And that's my par over the last week. Around 9-11 "usage" hours. I hardly put my phone down since I bought it. It's almost replaced my laptop ha ha

Direct sunlight kills batteries. Is it possible that that's what is depleting your iPhone's battery?

As stated in the MANY threads on this issue: if you battery life is bad, then your phone is bad. Fight for a replacement!
