Uhh.. I'm getting no cell coverage, red !'s, and "Could not activate cellular data.."

other people in my office with iPhones are fine. I have always had great coverage in my office the entire time I've had my phone.

Anything in particular I can do?

My phone is stuck on "Searching..." I've tried rebooting a few times. :\

32GB 3GS running 3.1.2, not jailbroken or hacked in any way.

Take out sim card and re-insert
if that fails
Try restoring as a backup
if that fails
try a restore from a new phone
if that fails
call AT&T
if that fails
Apple genius appointment for replacement?

Um, maybe its just a bad receptin day for your area of the building? Sometimes in my office everything works great, and others it cant even open Tweetie.

Try carrier pigeons.
Get a pigeon, tie a note to its foot, and tell it to find the recipient.

Not quite as fast as an SMS, but certainly faster than USPS.

This happens sometimes, and is usually due to a cellular tower being down. See if anyone else with AT&T has service. If they do, do a reboot of your phone (press and home and sleep until the phone shuts off) or reset network settings.

oops missed that...

could be 3 things then.

• SIM card went bad (put another att SIM card in). SIM cards will eventually fail
• Radio in phone went bad. Try to switch to edge (turn off 3G in settings)
• Didn't pay your bill and its now past due
