Isn't LTE band 12 the low frequency band T-mobile just purchased for better building penetration? T-mobile currently sucks for indoor reception due to it's high frequency LTE bands :(

That's weird, I could have swore there was a response in this thread before  (maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me), looks like the T-mobile users are pretty furious at this oversight in other forums.

Funny how they included at&t LTE band 29. A frequency that at&t still has no idea what they want to do with while t-mobile is already deploying band 12 and apple didn't include band 12? looks like at&t paid off apple not to include band 12 :(

Does it matter since T Mobile will be the first to have WiFi calling?
Of course it matters since WiFi isn't everywhere, plus if you are inside a building (say a walmart, target, costco, etc) that doesn't have WiFi and you need to look something up on the internet you are S.O.L.

LTE band 12 (at 700mhz) could have really helped out with both building signal penetration but also the distance that it can travel to provide better coverage.

Just don't shop in those stores. Target and Sams has free wifi near me. But it does suck it doesn't have band 12 especially on the tmo model.

All those stores have WiFi around me... however, they all have AT&T WiFi hotspots... not sure, if it's free for everyone though. My phone auto-logs in.

No complaints here. No phone I've used with T-Mobile has had this band and hasn't hindered my usage. So no biggie. I think someone didn't get something they tink the were "entitled" to and therefore craps all over T-Mobile.

Does anyone know if you have the t-mobile $30 prepaid if it includes free Wifi calling? This would be great since we only get 100 talk min a month.

Looks like I'll be sticking with Verizon for another year. Wanted to go to Tmobile or ATT, but their service at my house is bad (1 bar). ATT on the other hand is pretty good, but their LTE speed is horrible (1-3 download). Just hate having to pay full price to keep my unlimited data.

Wi-Fi calling on TMo counts against your minutes.
Hmmm....when i talked to TMobile, they said wifi calling does not count against your minutes. That's the point of wifi calling.

I will have to look at the fine print to see if you are right.

Most everyone on Howard Forums that I've seen says it does count against your minutes.

Please do report back with a chat log if you end up contacting TMo chat.

Added:
If you poke around the Tmo forums it seems clear that WiFi calling doesn't count against your minutes on the Simple Choice plans....which already included unlimited minutes....

I will check into this in more detail and report back. I am getting the TMobile Pay-by-the-day plan, so this is crucial for me.

I use Vonage to make calls using data or wifi when I run through my 100 minutes and it doesn't require me to add $ to get more minutes

While it's always good to have more bands and band 12 would've been welcome, it's not some deal breaking omission that will suddenly make phones not work. Service still works fine where I am the most.

Like the poster bragging about it not being in the phone earlier said in another thread, 700 mhz isn't the be all end all and isn't even available in many markets (not mine). Wi-Fi calling is a more welcome addition.

Have you ever tried actually USING AT&T hotspots?

They're so slow they make me yearn for even an EDGE connection. A lot of them are still being served by DSL lines with 512kbps uplinks; it only takes a few people on them with iCloud uploads to make them utterly useless. Extraordinarily craptacular.

Thanks for replying to a thread from a year ago :)

Yup, the hot spots are still pretty middle of the road lol

Worst bump ever: 2015 winner
Oh, wow. I now have egg on my face.

I thought I was replying to a different thread that LINKED to this one. I followed the link without thinking.

I will walk around with an egg-stained face for a while as punishment. Carry on, everyone.
