I know it’s very early on in the beta testing, but has anyone tried Big Sur on older retina MacBooks? I have a mid 2014 rMBP 13 inch which has always had issues with stuttering animations and UI but Catalina did go some way in making them smoother. Has this continued to Big Sur so far? Thanks

Big Sur UI totally running fine on Late-2013 MacBook Pro 15 maxed out. It is not as smooth as newer Macs with AMD GPUs. These have a lot better Metal implementation and acceleration all across the OS. But for a NVIDIA 750M it works correctly.

Second this - tested on a late 2013 15" MBP with 750M (with internal screen and external 4K monitor). The UI is smoother than I was expecting and in my opinion is totally usable.

Runs fine in my supported MacBook Air and unsupported mid 2012 mbp 13" and mid 2012 retina mbp 15"
