So been using the iPhone X for some time now and anyone else feels like there are some major flaws in the UI/UX with iOS 11 on iPhone X that needs to be fixed?

Some of the ones I hate and find particularly annoying,

1)Waste of real estate when the keyboard is being used. I have had multiple accidental touches on the emoji icon.

2)Camera Icon on lock screen. Why do we need a 3D touch camera icon on the lockscreen when we can just swipe on the right edge to start the camera? I know Apple is not big on customization BUT why not give the users an option to see what two icons they want there instead of having a redundant camera icon when swiping on the right edge of the screen does the SAME thing.

3)No way to see battery % by default without having to swipe down.

4)There is no way to see the do not disturb icon on the home screen OR lock screen without having to swipe down. So basically if you manually switched on DND and forgot to turn it off because the phone doesn't show it, you are ****ed. I learnt this when I missed a call from my hospital from an emergency surgery, luckily I still have my pager LOL.

5)Swipe down for control center. I feel like this could be easily implemented as a swipe up feature as the right most card on the the multitasking switcher instead of having to swipe down on the top right corner. That way the gesture to open the control center is more or less the same across the board.

1. Yeah, I can see the wasted space on the bottom part. I guess is the trade-off, so there's a space to do the swipe to home without accidentally typing letters.
2. I don't see the problem here. I've seen people more comfortable in "pressing" than "swiping" gestures, or vice versa. No customization here because, Apple.
3. Personally I've turned off the battery percentage on my 6S, and I enjoy my iPhone better without worrying every second looking at a percentage. Some Android phones are the same, saving space on the top bar for other notification icons.
4. Didn't know this. So there's no "moon" icon anywhere?
5. Yeah this is annoying, even when I'm just playing with the X at a store. It's annoying for me since trying to reach up and swipe down is harder than simply swiping up like in previous iPhones.

First iteration, yada yada yada. More reason for me to wait. :)

1)The placement of emoji icon causes the emoji keyboard to open up for me too often :(

2)The problem here IMO is that there is a camera icon on the lock screen AND the right swipe opens camera too. Kinda redundant to have two ways to open camera on the lock screen, the icon can be utilized for something else.

3)An option would be nice though.Maybe something like % inside the battery icon.

4)Moon icon appears if you swipe down and open control center. It doesn't appear when you swipe down to see notifications OR normally on home screen OR on lockscreen. I believe that is a very big mistake on Apple's part. I see a lot of people forgetting to turn it off because its not visible normally.

5)Yup.

ANd tbh these are easy fixes on Apple's part if they wanted to do it

Are you saying, the keyboard shoukd be all the way on the bottom? If yes, I would strongy disagree. And you know, there're are already options in "Do not disturb" where you can let calls through for e.g. Favorites?
I agree on the lockscreen camera thing though!

No I meant that the emoji icon could be moved or just implement an iPad like feature of preventing accidental touches and the keyboard could be moved down a bit, curved screen means its not going to be possible to move it all the way down.

About DND, Yes I am aware of that, but irrespective of that, not showing the moon icon on lockscreen or home screen can be an "out of sight, out of mind" thing and a friend of mine complained about the same exact thing!

I love the camera button, I think the UI treatment is way better than the slide. If anything they should deprecate that feature.

My #1 UI problem is the screen doesn't register my interactions if I am "Holding it wrong™"

If I am holding the iPhone X in a way that the webbing between my index finger and thumb touches the lower corner of the screen... I basically can't do anything until I adjust my grip so there is no skin contact. This only happens when i'm one handing the iPhone in portrait mode.

I know Apple can account for this in software. Much as the iPad Pro can adjust for using the pen on or a thumb on on the edge of the screen.

Reaching up into the top corners of a tall display for control center and notifications is a very poor choice.

The app killer gesture (which, yes, I know Apple doesn't want people to use and is entirely or mostly unnecessary) is slow by comparison to the TID phones.

ApplePay drove me nuts for the five weeks I had the phone: too many manipulations, too sensitive to angle and distance.

There were other UI/UX issues for me, need to think back a bit.

I would rather apple give us the option to change things that appear at the top. battery % I think most would rather know instead of going to notifications centre or the top to check. I know it's not a big deal for me as my x lasts all day but be good to have the option.

The only thing that has irked me so far is the control centre gesture. Swiping down from the top is a PITA especially when using the phone one handed. I will get used to it but I would prefer a gesture from the bottom of the screen - maybe a 3D touch swipe up from the bottom perhaps? (similar to the 3D touch swipe from the left edge of the screen to reach the app switcher).

I also think it would be better for the mini back buttons that appear at the top (the ones that are in a tiny font) could be at the bottom of the screen. Would make more sense to me.

Other than that, the switch to gestures from the home button in the UI has been much simpler than I had anticipated.

I wondered continually when I had an X (five weeks) why you couldn't have at least an option to have the upper corner swipes come from the bottom corners. We know that the UI is capable of being quite discriminating about the gestures because Reachability involves a very specific swipe (on a limited bit of the display).

While a lot of these things are subjective (and I agree with you, they could be done better, or corrected to a certain degree), not having do not disturb displayed is a big nuisance; and I'm sorry to hear that you experienced an emergency call being missed due to no obvious "mode" display being in effect.

I'm a very cognizant person when it comes to my devices, but I have also found myself forgetting to turn off do not disturb after having it on for a 10-15 minute period. The moon reminds me the next time I look at my phone, so not having that would be a huge problem; such as in your case.
