Whether that's true or not my real world experiences have always been that BT Open Zone speeds are significantly faster then using 3G in the same location.
Wherever I have been, 3G coverage with 3 has always been significantly faster than any BT Openzone hotspot.
Funny, I thought OpenZone was "up to" 8mbps. From someone else's homehub you are capped to something, maybe the 0.5, but can't use these via the free wi-fi access bits of mobile providers deals - you have to be an OpenZone subscriber.
