I have just spoken to a friend that works in my local fruit based shop and he informs me that they have just taken delivery of 5 3ft x 3ft boxes each labelled 200 units........work it out!

UK Apple stores have stock ready for monday night

Tuesday morning, Tuesday at midnight for the 24-hour stores? That still allows enough time for the lunatics to get in line ...I doubt it will be monday night to be honest.
With the time difference to the west coast it would be to late etc. Maybe Tuesday if Apple have got their act into gear

the apple store on regent street has a full schedule of events up until Thursday 12th (including events on monday at the same time and after the keynote), so I doubt it's happening unless they're anticipating low demand.
Like I said before, the O2 store in hammersmith is closed and due to re-open 27/6 - I've decided to use this as an indication it's not coming until at least the 27th.

maybe they have prepared loads - more than required, so that as people try and buy on tuesday (if available) there will be no queues etc
also, the WWDC keynote starts at 7pm UK time, i doubt the iphone will be available monday

I agree. As much as I *want* it to be ready ASAP, I really doubt it'll be available on the same day.
I'm sure Apple will want at least a few days to build hype as well.

I believe the Tysons store in DC sold a few hundred on the first day and then sold out over the weekend of the last launch. Don't know what the initial shipment was but I wouldn't be surprised if it was close to 1,000

and exeter's quite an affluent area so would probably sell quite a lot in the first week or so and is one of the only Apple stores in quite a wide area i think

Have had an update from the source, the boxes don't contain iphones I'm afraid, however apparently they contain something 'MUCH more intersting' according to him. Apparently they have been told any leaks will result in a P45! (this means you're fired - for the benefit of our American friends)
