It's a forum equivalent of a food fight perhaps. Can anyone tell me - the AT&T memo - conclusively proved a fake? Anyone know if anyone's actually verified if AT&T store staff have any time slots that is *conclusively* shown to not be allowed to be taken as holiday leave?

Remember last year when AT&T asked employees to schedule vacations around the iPhone launch? Well it seems the wireless carrier is asking the same this summer. The internal email asks employees that no vacation be taken from June 15 to July 12 to “ensure adequate store staffing and to give everyone an equal opportunity to benefit from an exciting product launch.”

Vacation Schedules

To: All Employees

Last year at this time we asked that all vacations be scheduled before June 15 or after July 15, to ensure adequate store staffing and to give everyone an equal opportunity to benefit from an exciting product launch. Thanks to your hard work, we experienced excellent sales during the mid-summer period. This year, the numbers you produced in 2007 will be hard to beat; but as a business, we must rise to the challenge, and make every effort to exceed last year’s sales results. Your management team is counting on you!

We’ll meet the challenge “head-on” by providing an exciting Summer Promotional Launch to enable your sales to soar. We again anticipate heavier than normal customer traffic in our stores, providing an excellent earning opportunity for every front line retail sales consultant (RSC) in company owned retail stores.

To ensure proper staffing during this period, Sales personnel planning to take approved time off are encouraged to schedule their vacations before June 15 or after July 12 to participate in the heavy selling period

Previously approved vacation will be allowed where voluntary rescheduling is not feasible

No additional vacation will be approved for 6/15 – 7/12

If customer traffic is manageable, there may be an opportunity to approve vacation toward the end of the period. Managers will communicate updates as they become available.

Just google it...

The att store I went to this afternoon said they MUST be at work the week of June 9th - June 15th. No time off would be granted.

There seems to be too many reports going around here.
how about everyone just waits intill Monday.

I have just spoken to a friend that works in my local fruit based shop and he informs me that they have just taken delivery of 5 3ft x 3ft boxes each labelled 200 units........work it out!

Hey did you know that gullible isn't in the dictionary?

I think it starts 6pm UK time not 7pm.

Yes, the keynote begins at 6pm here in London, and the flagship store on Regent Street is normally open until 9. I think we're looking at phones here on Monday, and no need to rush. They've got plenty.

Have had an update from the source, the boxes don't contain iphones I'm afraid, however apparently they contain something 'MUCH more intersting' according to him. Apparently they have been told any leaks will result in a P45! (this means you're fired - for the benefit of our American friends)

This is ball.

The last people to know are going to be staff. They'll know when we do. With the 1000's of Apple staff, two being on YouTube (Nerimon, Smivadee), they're not going to tell the staff until the day they are set to hit the shelf, otherwise it would be leaked, even if they did threaten staff.

You are not listening to what T0mat0 asked! All you did was copy and paste. He asked whether there is actual proof that the letter is real. The words above prove absolutely nothing. Someone could have easily facked this and pass it off as an email from Att.

Until there is legitimate proof that this email cam from Att, the words above are worthless.

i think if you set the iphone to the uk region the week starts on monday in the calendar whereas if you set it to us the week starts on sunday.

Really?
