Looks like there is no love in for the UK Apple Watch pre orders!

Post your experiences here.

I have an Apple Watch Ultra 3 Hermes with Orange En Mer strap on it's way.

In PFS, 19th September delivery!
 
Apple Watch Ultra 3, Natural Titanium with Natural Titanium Milanese Loop - PFS since a few days back, September 19th delivery.

Series 11 46mm GPS in Space Grey with Slate Milanese Loop, ordered moments after the store re-opened and due for delivery on the 19th. This is replacing a Series 3 42mm GPS that a friend gave me (in return for beer) about nine months ago (which itself replaced a Pebble Time KS edition which was still working well).

So I'm upgrading finally from a Series 5 to the Ultra 3, not sure on which band size so was just going to pop to the Meadowhall store next Tuesday when I have time to go and pick up the watch and correct strap. Just noticed now that in store collection isn't available now, certainly for launch day, but not showing any dates afterwards. Anyone know how fast they will have stock again to just go along and purchase? I know I could just order online, but there's something still as a geek about going to the store and making a purchase there, as well as trying the bands on for size.
 
Did mine via EE (Black U3 Milanese) on the Thursday lunch time when they went up on their site. No idea when it will arrive. Advisor told me I was one of the first to order and it would be the 19th. Tracking still shows awaiting confirmation so who knows, just a waiting game for a text from DPD

Annoyingly, Apple have taken two loads of pending transactions on my card. What is annoying is that is is my debit card not a credit card.......

Weirdly enough, the pending transaction I had for them from Apple Pay has disappeared. The 849 was returned to my account - I guess it just passed the point for the pending charge to be claimed.
More annoying is I now need to maintain that 849 in my current account which confuses my actual available balance.

Just got off the phone with them as they definitely made a mistake. The first pending was for the correct amount of £300 as I paid £1000 from my apple balance, the new pending is incorrect at wait for it....£1300 as the system reserved the full amount for the watch as my apple balance was zero. Guess why? The took the £1000 on the order date. "Oh yes they said, we need to correct that". Long story short, my current account is £1300 light as they take 24-28 hours to correct the pending.
 
Arbitrage; happen to be in the US at present, picking things up here. Strong £/weak US$ means it's 28% off (or not 35% more, however one prefers to look at it). Between myself and my wife, across various products, basically pays for the flight.
 
Question for everyone in the UK preordering: Are you getting the Cellular model and if so have you checked your carrier supports 5G RedCap? If all the information on MR is correct Apple is using the Mediatek modem on 5G RC and currently only EE appears to have it deployed in the UK - although speaking to EE even they do not really know at a customer facing level.

This would put the watch back on 4G/LTE and given how restrictive all the UK carrier's have been in supporting Apple's iPhone products on their 5G Standalone networks (which 5G-RC needs) or requiring new contracts, I am hesitant to order.

Interested to hear if you heard otherwise.

EDIT: Interestingly Apple's US site explicitly states 5G RedCap, UK site just says 5G.

Ordered my AWU 3 on announcement day and money taken from my account pending.

Today it’s all been put back hope all is ok?

Mines same - think the pending only holds usually for about 4 days, they'll charge again on shipping. Just ensure you keep the returned money from pending in the same account until they ship.

Ordered an Apple Watch Ultra 3 and new AirPods for in store collection on Friday. Paid via Apple Pay on my John Lewis credit card which is still showing as Pending, fully expecting this payment to fail but currently the Apple Store app does not yet say payment has failed.

I’m glad I saw this. I’m in exactly the same position - ordered from EE last week and told I was one of the first but the order is yet to be despatched, according to the tracking page. They told me yesterday that it had been picked (on the phone) for delivery tomorrow, and via chat that they hope to despatch it on Friday for delivery quite soon afterwards. So I’m hoping for a DPD text today…

I was on live chat yesterday and was told it was picked, took it with a pinch of salt. However I’ve just had a text from DPD with the pin, also showing in the DPD app. No email though. Fingers crossed for you.

There’s still a good chance. Live chat told me they are picked first come first served. DPD text right up to early hours of the delivery day, so fingers crossed you get one soon.
 
After all the hassle of being double and triple 'payment pending' yesterday, it seems one amount has gone to charged on my debit card and the others still pending. This means they have the full dosh for it so looks like I will get a shipping notice soon!

I'm hoping for DPD, but probably get DHL or Evri.
