Oh my lordy lord! Is O2's 4G usually that fast, or is Leeds (I presume) a special exception?

My mum is on 4GEE (salesman did a great job on her...) but she usually only gets 10-15 Mbps on 4G here. I'll wait for the iPhone 6 and get O2 if that's what the speeds are like rather than jumping to Three as I was planning.

Is your Mum in a "Double Speed" area with 4GEE?

I live in Derby and got well over 50 down when I was with them!

Cost?

I get on three for £15

5000 texts
2000 minutes
Unlimited data
Tethering
4g where available.

This offer will be ending at midnight.

Three have new price plans as of the 18th, headline feature is tethering will be limited to 2GB.

Unfortunately not :(

Some of these 4G speeds amaze me, but only ever seem to be in major cities.

Hopefully EE will pull their fingers out and enable it then.

It does make a huge difference, I found I used Mobile Data more when I was with them on Double Speed.

Thinking to switch to EE for the iPhone 6, they have nice 20gb double data contracts, for the 5s its £47 a month which is a bit pricey but worth it. Unless Three fixes their network up as it is not good in London now.

Currently with Vodafone and I easily pull down 30mb indoors, generally 50mb outdoors.

I wish I could get the same with Vodafone, it looks like I won't be getting 4G here in Derby until late 2014, but by then I'll be out of contract with them, and unlikely to renew.

I am thinking of re-joining EE, I agree £47 a month IS pricey but at least you won't be limited to 2GB of Personal Hotspot, unlike Three.

There is also generally distant Quidco/Topcashback deals so you get £150+ which brings the price down a tad. But TBH anytime your getting the latest iPhone your going to have to pay quiet about.

Personally be on sim only plans for the last 3 years and it works out well, as I get a new phone each year and sell it on the year after too cover the cost, so that is always an options. But 4G sim only plans are pretty pricey. Currently pay £31 for 8GB data on Vodafone, again Quidco helped bring that down to £17.

All real depends what Cashback I can get during the iPhone6 launch as it tends to make sim only plans very attractive.
