(UK) Currys trade in offer

Hello all,

I noticed Currys are currently offering a minimum of £100 trade in credit if you trade in your current Apple Watch and buy a new series 7.

I have an Apple Watch series 2 so getting £100 for it seems like a good deal? Has anyone taken advantage of this deal yet and moved from a series 2 to a series 7?

Definitely a good deal but I’ve seen music magpie is giving the best value for my series 4 so far.

That's a good deal for my Series 3. But they only stock the aluminium Watches.
 
Thanks to this thread, I was able to trade-in two Apple Watch Series 0 for £100 X 2 gift cards. Have already redeemed one for Nike Starlight 41mm. Waiting for Nike Midnight 45mm stock to redeem the second one. Currys asked for watch strap and charging cable to complete the trade-in.

Really good value for 6.5 year old Apple Watch!

Yes, they gave me a printout with redeemable code and a PIN number. I have redeemed one via online order and will redeem the other when the watch I am looking at is in stock.

Surprisingly the offer is on all Apple watches irrespective of the series. Luckily I had Series 0 in some drawer instead of having thrown it out. I am using Series 3 currently and will save this one for future offers!
 
Can you do this online? I have an old series 0. So can send away and get a gift voucher back to buy a series 7 when back in stock? Thanks
 
What I want to know is whether I can use this to get £100 for an old series 0 and use the gift voucher on something else, not a series 7 (as I already have mine)

It says on the website that it’s £100 that can only be used against the purchase of an Apple Watch series 7

As per their website, it can be done online too, but easier to do it in store where they inspect the watch and give the gift card immediately.
 
The voucher can be used on an product not just Apple Watch!

On the face of it, this looks like a great offer. My experience with Currys is less than good. In my experience, if something goes wrong, they were not easy to deal with. Please don't take this as knocking Currys. It was a while ago and they may well have improved their game by now but, for me, this would be a gamble. Again, in my experience, dealing direct with Apple is usually easy and has a good outcome. Tempting offer though!

You’re correct. Horrendous customer services. But alas used the 100 pound voucher to get a MagSafe battery.
 
How would this work for a trade in online. My old series 3 is valued at 65 on their site. If I sent in, how would I get the 100?
