Just looking at the prices I'd say scam. For example, Apple sells the quad 2.93GHz refurbished for 2250 quid.

But looking at his reviews I'd say go for it. You won't find any better prices for brand new machines in the UK. 1500 for the quad is a hell of a deal, especially considering that you can drop in a hex core these days, which makes it an even better deal than the 2.26GHz octad.

I could do with a 2nd machine but I wanted to know whether they come with Apple warranty of some kind? It says their own warranty on the listing.

Apple computers (no matter where you bought them from) are always covered by the standard Apple warranty, so eligible for the usual services Apple provides. Well, as long as they are new of course.
