Just applied for 0% interest finance when order a new Macbook Pro and got a phone call. The person wanted me to send a scan of a bank statement and my drivers license via email to them to verify my identity. The email I was told to use was underwriting@barclayspartnerfinance.com. I just want to know if this is the same email other people may have been given? I searched it on Google and couldn't find anything with that specific email.

Apple does use Barclays but I don't think I'd be willing to send my info without better verification. Can you contact Barclay's and ask about this first? I'm sure refusal to transmit personal data in a plain text email is not grounds for refusing your loan.

I asked if I could sort it in branch and they said they may then said the documents to them via post which is no better.

Also I can provide a utility bill, does my phone contact bill count as one?
