Hi,

I am wanting to purchase the imac 27 i5 with an ipad from the UK.

Later on this year i will be moving to Germany to live and i have the following compatability query.

Can you change the set up on the imac to German or would i need to install the German OSX in terms of doing letters etc in iwork etc.

I have not seen a German version of the apple keyboard but if it's the same as a pc the the UK/German versions will be different.

Would i be able to just buy the German version of the apple keyboard link it up to my imac/ ipad and use it?
Will it recognise automatically the umlauts used when writing in German?

The problem i foresee is although i prefer my mac to be a UK version with UK OSX i will need to also be able to do things in german on my imac if you know what i mean.

Hope the above has not been to confusing!

Cheers now 🙂

There is only one version of OSX, you just simply change the language preferences.

Yes you can buy the German keyboard and use it accordingly. You can see pictures of the various country specific keyboards on the online apple store.
