UK Government responds to iPlayer petition

    The UK Government has responded to the iPlayer multi-platform availability petition logged via their petitions site.

    The petition was

    "We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to prevent the BBC from making its iPlayer on-demand television service available to Windows users only, and instruct the corporation to provide its service for other operating systems also."

    Good to see the 'system' working for the people at last. Kudos to all those who signed up, and thanks to No 10 for listening.

    Surely it should be no surprise to many people at the BBC to learn this though? Being a media company, I'll bet there are more than a few Mac users throughout the organisation!

    Pity the checks are at 6 month intervals though. Better than nothing I suppose. :D
