Ooops I went for AppleCare+ and then realised my bank covers for this, plus theft or loss. So I'll need to cancel.

If I get Applecare should I go caseless? Still put screen protector?

The main reason I have a case, an el cheapo TPU thing, is because without one the phone is as slippery as a wet bar of soap, it positively wants to escape the hand and plummet to annihilation on the pavement. With or without Applecare, nobody wants the aggro of a smashed phone. Plus, you'll look pathetic scooping up the remains and people will laugh at you.

Screen protector? I think so. Unless you believe the marketing waffle about 'ceramic shield' it's far too easy - and unbelievably annoying - to pick up a scratch. Really, we should all either keep our phones at home in rubber cupboards or simply not buy them, but we're not here to be sensible, are we?

not sure on phones I spent 2 hrs sorting the eSim on my S6 watch transferring from my S3 yesterday with EE
Why was that a problem? I’ve upgraded every year ever since the S3 and transferred my Sim with EE. You just give them the EID number of the new watch. They transfer it over, reboot your watch and 10 mins later, you have lte on the new watch.
Granted though that some customer service advisors are better at it than others

Is AppleCare + worth it for an iPhone? I have it on my MacBook but never had it on an iPhone.
If I’d got AppleCare+ for my last 3 iPhones I’d have paid £387. This would have been money down the drain as I didn’t have a need to use it. If I had, there would have been the £25/£79 repair excess on top of this amount.

I won’t bother with it for the new phone either - if I have a need to pay for a screen repair (or worse) at some point the savings I’ve made over the years will cover it.

So to me it’s not worth it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth it for everyone.

Regarding the yellow tint thing on the screens, this is my first OLED iPhone but I noticed it almost immediately, do you guys think it’s normal? Also not sure what I could do about it because it’s from a £849 Amazon deal. They won’t give me a replacement because they have no stock at all and I guess I should be grateful to have in the first place at that price.

You're on Night Shift, at 22:17.

Click on 'Night Shift' on that page of settings, and you can adjust the colour temperature to your satisfaction.

wish it was that simple. Maybe it was the first two advisers then. Spoke to CS who updated the EID Friday.
Saturday still couldn’t get the EE plan working. Spoke to Technical who tried everything but still would activate.
Transferred to tier 2 Technical who then sorted it .

Friday and Saturday I kept getting eSim failing to download error code 109 then code 103

All sorted now thou

Worth checking your contents insurance also, If you have Personal cover for Theft accidental damage for personal effects

You do realise Amazon Special doesn’t matter if you ever get a issue Apple will replace it if needed

whilst the ESR screen protectors from Amazon are great, the same can't be said for their clear squishy 12 case - very baggy, disappointing.

Spigen coming tomorrow now, they're usually a bit firmer / prouder above the lip of the screen.

I must be the only one still waiting for Amazon. Finally dispatched.....but via hermes (damn it) and delivery has moved from Tuesday to Wednesday 😂. Wtf of going on.

Is an Esim a non physical sim? I have a normal sim from EE

Yes, an eSIM is a virtual SIM - it means that the physical SIM card slot is kept free so that you can put another SIM in there, for example if you're travelling or if you want two lines on one phone. If you have a normal (physical) SIM, you should just be able to move it from one phone to another.

eSIMs should be easily moveable from one phone to another, Apple provide a process to automate the move when people migrate from one phone to another, but EE doesn't support it...

which spiegen case from amazon do you recommend please?

If AppleCare is now £9.99 p/m instead of £7.99 I think I’m better to just pay the full whack £200.
If buy it outright and sell next year Apple refund the rest, only cheaper if you plan keeping the phone for the two years save yourself nearly £40

I sold my iphone 11 pro last week with 1 year remaining applecare which helped the resell value but yeah I can see your point - if i was going to get the new phone next year it would be cheaper to pay monthly, i didn't think of that last year. The applecare system was down earlier so I'm assuming they fixed the pricing error.

unfornately your not mine is due between 13 november/december 16 i wouldn't be surprised to see the pro max out before we get our pro.

The fact that on some forums some people have ordered 6 iphone pro with amazon and got them all is a bitter pill to swallow they should have allowed just one per household similar to xbox x ps5 terms.
