The X was the last launch I got properly excited about, because of the beautiful redesign. Now 5G has persuaded me to take the leap from the X, and I’m feeling the exact same excitement now! 😃

For me going back to the Qualcomm modem is the deal breaker.

Thanks but I want to start fresh and clear out unused apps etc. So I'm trying to avoid the transfer or restore from backup methods

I may be wrong but I think you will lose your Apple Watch data if you dont restore. It’s all part of the same iCloud backup. You won’t have health or activity medals etc.

That’s exactly what I’m planning. "Best laid plans though "....

Next year will be about a few HomePod minis, replacing my old iPad Air 2 which is falling apart, Airtags if they materialise, maybe change up current mbp to a silicon 14” if that happens, iPhone 13 and see if they redesign the Apple Watch...

Good thing I won’t be doing any holidays anytime soon! Need to save those pennies

Part of the restore process will update the phone, no need to setup as new and update

I may be wrong but I think you will lose your Apple Watch data if you dont restore. It’s all part of the same iCloud backup. You won’t have health or activity medals etc.

I’m pretty sure health data will download from iCloud without restoring a backup aslong as health is selected in iCloud. Will know for sure tomorrow!

Currently my i12PM is travelling away from me to a “local” depot somewhere near Bristol. I live in London. Despite repeated assurance from DPD’s CS that it will be here tomorrow, I’m convinced it’s going to be a colossal cock up tomorrow.
