When you put it like that, true. Especially now they're (I think) upping contactless to £100 so you could use your phone to pay for almost anything day to day.

With me I just don't like the thought of adding more bulk onto the phone and the magnet possibly coming off. Its just down to the persons personal preference at the end of the day. Being able to put any receipts etc in my wallet throughout the day also instead of stuffing them in my pocket is another thing
The contactless limit doesn't apply to Apple Pay, you can pay for any amount with it.

Anybody ordered from sky mobile?
Got an email from them on Friday when I ordered saying Great news your phone will be delivered on 24th ( hopefully that’s true) and courier will update via text and email. Just wondering when I can expect these updates? Do you think it will be on the day?
I have also ordered with sky, same email nothing since.

Hi all, as we wait in anticipation for our iP13 shipping notifications tomorrow I wanted to get your opinions on the iPad Mini? Very tempted to get but all reviewers have commented about the screen not being great. Issue is I’m downgrading from an 11” Pro with pro motion purley due to the smaller form factor but now unsure as the user experience will be reduced
I'm not an iPad user, I have no need for one. Easier to grab my MacBook and browse the web and then I have my phone if I need that 'quick & portable' browsing

I do like the iPad though and I would have one if I knew id use it

However.. I wouldn't get the new Mini.

1: Why buy an iPad if youre going to get a mini version? Just use your phone?
2: The bezels look huge on the mini, I love the design but those bezels...

...and now you've took notice of them you can't unsee them. Definitley one to wait for the next or 3rd generation (of this new redesign) when they make them smaller

As in tapping on the card reader the same way you would with a normal bank card?

I know its limitless when using the phone to buy stuff on the phone itself but I surely can't go and spend thousands on a car for example and just tap my phone on the card reader? 😂

I’ve so far bought 4 cases (always end up buying far too many and swore this year I wouldn’t!).

Crazy thing is is that for the past 2 weeks or so I’ve been using an XR without a case and love it. As it’s not my main phone I’ve been so much more relaxed and not worried about dripping it etc.

Anyway, enough of this nonsense. Anyone thinking of the Caudabe Sheath? (Might just order one LAST case!!!)

I’m sure the screen is technically different, but form factor trumps that.

I’ve also got an 11” pro and whilst I love it, I regret paying so much for something I use mainly for reading the internet. If I had a choice today I would be looking at a mini or an air.

I don’t think I really remember going “wow” when I first saw promotion.

My daughter has a normal iPad from last year and the colour etc is fine on screen. The lack of a laminated display though is really bad.

You can do exactly that!

My iPad mini arrives on Friday but I wouldn’t give up my iPad Pro for it. It’s an addition to my Apple family
This exactly 👆 it’s not a Pro replacement but the Mini is a very well refined tablet. Easily best small tablet on the market. It wouldn’t surprise me if buyers used this more than their iPhones given the form factor & accessibility. Reckon they’ll be some decent Black Friday deals too in November.

If your main usage is reading the web then really consider trying an iPad. My M1 MacBook Air sits unused most of the time and my iPad is in constant use!

The MacBook is used only when there’s something that can’t be done on an iPad.

Normal size iPads are to big for me.

I have always preferred the mini form factor especially holding it in one hand.

My main usage has been AV Apps and remotes, forums, gaming and watching media when travelling trains and flights.

My iPhone is for podcasts, calls, general audio via AirPods Pro and Max when I'm out and about Apple Pay as its way more convenient and you don't have to worry about carrying any cards.

If want anything more then I use my 13 inch MacBook Pro soon to be replaced for 14 MacBook Pro later this year.

And now I find myself looking at the Apple store..

..Oh good.

I just know for what I'd pay it wouldn't get used enough, its annoying because I would really like one but just can't justify it

and then there's the next issue of being an Apple fan meaning that although the 'iPad' would be more than enough for what I'd use it for, I'd have to at least buy the iPad Air 🤣 Pretty sure my sensible head would kick in and avoid the Pro..

Speaking of the Air... Did they update that at this Keynote just gone? Asking for a friend..

Looking at the specs and noticed its A14 and considering the new Mini is A15 im going to guess no?

Austin Mann - Apple's go-to photographer tester - has put out his review of the 13 Pro cameras:

I think that would be the main appeal for me, travel. I will give them that.

Great for being on trains/planes etc, much easier to pull an iPad out and watch something, or browse the web/twitter and so on than it is a MacBook

In a similar position - spent a lot on the 11” and mainly use for browsing, viewing my photos and work FaceTime calls so feel the mini would be better as it’s more portable and will compliment the iPhone 13 Pro (non max).

not significantly on the pro.. though after a year of the case on, when you do take it out and hold it 'naked' it feels a lot smaller!

the pro max cases just made that size even more bigger for me!
Hmmmm deliberating if I get the chalk pink this year I’ll wait and go to the store to try it on etc see how I feel. Just can’t stand more bulk than is needed. Small hands and all that
