Do these work for current plans? I’m at £81 a month just now and I’m half expecting a £100(ish) (ouch) contract for my data needs when the 14 plans drop. Will be preordering on Friday so any discount would be hugely appreciated.
Yup. They work with upgrades.

iPhone 13PM transferred to my trusty iPhone XS Max which surprisingly is showing decent battery health at 91%. The last day for me to send it back to MM is the 15th Sept but with the RM strikes and backlog tales, you lot have spooked me so will be sending it off on Monday.

Just a reminder some apps require you to have access to the app on the previous phone. Usual suspects include

Starling (seems like they still ask you to record a video)
HSBC
Tesco +

Keeping my options open i.e if EE prices are rubbish and I decide to go 0% directly via Apple. Do they do hard search or soft search. Im only 33 points from hitting 999 score. Dont want to kill my streak. 🫣

HSBC And First Direct are pain in the back side. I transferred all of mine onto my iPad for that very reason.

Credit scores are meaningless.

When you take out a contract, generally a hard search is done, then the credit line is opened.

That will defo effect my score. I know but I set myself a goal beginning of this year to hit that number.

For that very reason Ive been refusing credit limit increase offers on my CCs and Next directory.

I am unsure how Experian creates their score, but I’ve also seen the lack of credit activity, bar paying down to adversely affect scoring. All credit actors are different however and some are more risk averse than others.

I kinda wished we have a FICO-like system.

I do use my CC for big purchases but pay it off within 7 days.

And next directory which is a must if you got kids for school uniforms.

I’ve seen people do this and I used to do it myself, nowadays I managed the money remaining on the card: I can and will purchase big, but pay off like 95% of it. The revolving credit balance indicates some activity, but a general balance going down is usually useful, and I admit this might be how I have a debt ratio that’s enormous - albeit I hope not

Is requesting to reduce the current credit limit on your CC seen as positive or negative sign?
Negative better to ask for a increase

Think they see it as a negative coz it decreases your credit utilisation

Spending over 25% of your limit is a negative as well so if your buying big and go over that 25% it affects your rating

Have you done the Experian credit boost? That's when you link up your Experian account with a bank account. I received +24 points to take me to 999.

Credit Karma thinks much less of me at only 624 out of 710.

Regarding credit acceptance and declines, there was a poster last year (I forget their name) who very thoroughly explained why people with excellent scores can sometimes be declined for credit, and others with only so-so scores get accepted by the Barclays finance scheme.

He basically said it's down to geographical and employer factors, where Barclays are spreading their risk by not having too many credit customers in any one location and any one employer. The example he used was a car manufacturing plant that provides most jobs in one part of the country. If they suddenly close down the plant, that's a lot of defaulting risk they then have to bear.
